In the future, cars might decide if driver is drunk

A lab in Waltham Massachusetts is working on prototype sensors to be placed on the steering wheels of cars to find out the blood alcohol content of drivers. A demonstration was carried out where a woman had two cocktails over 30 minutes and showed how breath and touch sensors were able to detect her blood alcohol level. The technology is designed to be less obtrusive than blow devices that are already installed in some cars. Critics speculate into the cost and the reliability of the technology.
